William Hunter was a Marian martyr who was burnt to death in Brentwood at the age of 19 on 26th March 1555. He was the first martyr in England under the reign of Queen Mary.
There is a memorial to him at Wilson's Corner in Brentwood and the subject of an Earthcache.
I was in town for the turn on for the Christmas Lights so I took the opportunity to pop down there to gather information on Granite and Yorkstone to answer the COs questions.
