That 4.5/3 Woolly Hat mystery cache over in Burnham has been playing on my mind. I’d worked out where I‘d gone wrong on the sums so I really wanted to put this to bed.😀
I parked up in the marina car park and walked down to the search area. I worked out the best way to get into the blackthorn thicket and dived in, not litterly.🥴 The code was good and the log sheet was soon signed.
I had to go back to North Fambridge for the next cache. For some inexplicable reason, I had missed the WM Letterbox here a few days ago. I thought that the memorial itself was a poor effort with an inscription that couldn’t be read. Once I‘d sorted out the coords, I had a long walk down a muddy track to the search area. The cache hadn’t been replaced very well so it as easily spotted.
The final cache of the morning was Crabby‘s Cold Bridge Cache up in Cold Norton. This road bridge is over the former Maldon West to Woodham Ferrers railway line which closed in 1953. The track bed is still visible. There had been a cache here before which had been archived. This trad is a new replacement which was a quick find which was a nice change compared to the previous one.
