Sea Wall Trek

Read story

As yesterday was my wedding anniversary, geocaching was not on the agenda. However as we visited the Wilkin's Tea Rooms in Writtle for the first time, I got a pass to go to Writtle playing fields to have another go at the Flagging puzzle cache. This one has a habit of going missing and as it had recently been replaced, I thought it prudent to have a look as we were only "just down the road!" Alas it was another DNF for me but I know from an e-mail chat with the CO that I was looking in the right place.

This morning, I was off to Burnham-on-Crouch to walk the sea-wall to do another of the "A view of" series set by NathanJHunt. Before I started though, I had a quick look for River Crouch Sea Wall #2 which had eluded many others and myself before. This time I spotted a subtle unseen hint and made a quick find, hoorah!!

Then I was off in the other direction to the find the "A view over Wallasea Island" series. Probably a four mile walk and I found all five caches, some easier and one, a pig to spot but I got it on the way back. As I was finishing the walk, I saw the crane in action lifting a small cabin cruiser over the sea wall for its winter maintenance.

I had time to work out the coords for a CM multi which look good for another visit to town.
