After a great night in the Alma, running into old pals and making new ones included Arfon from Porthmadog wearing a Welsh kilt, I had a lay-in at the hotel, resting my head. We set out for the festival after a late breakfast.
Setting out from the pier, we followed the historical trail round the town taking in the lighthouses, the station and spent a long time at the Redoubt built to defend the town during the Napoleonic Wars. There were displays by musketeers from the Middle Ages through to Kings German Artillery. The commanding officer said that it would be loud and believe me, it was.
I picked up four trads on the day all set at historical sites. There are many more in town and I'm looking forward to returning some time to find them.
