Halstead

Now that the lockdown is easing, we’ve decided that we must have a day out at least once a week. We stuck a pin in the map of Essex and punctured Halstead.🤔 I like Halstead so I was looking forward to revisiting the place.

I sought permission to look for a geocache but I knew that I’d already turned most of this pleasant market town smiley.🙁 I checked out the most picturesque route and followed it for possible caches on route.

I spotted the re-activated CM Catholic Church of St Mary in Silver End and thought that it would be a reasonable trad to go for. I had found its predecessor so wasn‘t expecting too many problems. We pulled up outside the unusually shaped church and I spent more time lining up the photo than finding and sorting out the admin for the cache.
