I was on my way to Gilly’s the final countdown event in Latchingdon this morning. Gilly aka BeanandSprout was in the final stages of a 366 days caching stretch so was holding a meeting in anticipation.
I took the opportunity to look for some more caches on my Dengie list on the way here and found the Little Hayes Chase and the Seafood Corner trads. The next one on my list was nathanjhunt’s SideTracked - Mangapps which had been on my radar for ages.
I parked up in the recommended parking area and set off down the long and winding footpaths to my destination. I had visited the railway memorabilia collection at the privately owned Railway Museum but now I had the opportunity to check out some of the distant track. I set off along the long and winding paths to the search area. It was a splendid morning with the sun out, the Skylarks taking off and calling with nobody else around, glorious.😀
After I had found the well placed trad, I retraced my steps back to the car to drive the short distance to Gilly’s do. What a great meeting! Splendid company and a great venue which I must visit again in the future. I have just found out that I won a TB but I had to leave early.🤔😀
