Essex Wayne Whining

Read story

My plan for the day was to go back to Great Horkesley and Boxted to finish off the Essex Wayne series and its continuation from Boxted with the B2D series. I was also expecting to pick a few other caches nearby.

I started about 0930 in Little Horkesley with 3 trads including a CM but with an early DNF. Then it was over to where I left off last week, stomping the lanes and fields into Boxted picking up trads on the way. Not doing much research on the local area, I didn't realise that I was going to walk through the Dedham Vale Vineyard.

I had seen the sign at the bottom of the lane but was interested in coffee instead of wine at this time of day. So after a pleasant but warm filter coffee and a chat with mine host, I just had to have a look in the shop and lo' Essex Cider, I've never seen it or imbibed it but this will change. I bought their remaining stock of five pint bottles and of course a bottle of vino tinto for the memsahib. Well not tinto but a dry white named Colchester Oyster.

So after refreshment, it was on with the Essex Way to Boxted Church to complete the series and to to solve the CM multi. After lunch and a visit to the church and solving the multi, it was off on the Boxteddies series continuing the Essex Way.

It was only trads on offer but I found almost all on my list but had 2 DNFs unfortunately.

So on the day, I found 38 caches but only one multi. I had hoped to reach 400 CMs today but left hovering on 399 after finding just the two on the day.
