Today it was back to the Alresford & Brightlingsea area to mop up some green dots on the map. I started early at the trad at Great Bromley radar station, followed by a CM, a VS and a dip at an important one on my list, the Essex Resuscitator, unfortunately it wasn't there.
I moved on to the area around Little Bentley picking up some of the SEBC series, the CM, a 5/4 bonus from the CM but dipped at the telephone box. At Elmstead, I picked up 2 out of 3 trads, before whizzing down the road to Alresford Station for the ST and a VS.
I tried for the CM at the ruined church but no joy then I set off on parts of a few series taking in a walk round the sea wall, the quarry? and the Alresford Amble. The scenery was brilliant but not all the caches were successful finds. One series seemed simple enough on paper but the hints were anagrams which was helpful!
After lunch I drove down to Brightlingsea Church, parked up and set off a long circular walk which would take it some of the old Brightlingsea railway track, many lakes and some more quarries. In maybe 15 cache, I had one DNF, but found some great tree climbs and some cracking riverside walking. I got back to the car as dusk was approaching.
A great day's walking and caching resulting in 39 finds but about five dippers. Hopefully this burst of caching will help me finish the year as the No. 1 finder of Essex caches.
