Bouncing About Braintree-24th November

Read story

Thursday, I'm out all day and an early start for me. My first call was the Estaines Parva CM and this time I had an easy find of this cunning cache. I moved on to the Flitch Way to pick up a trad near a bridge. What fine brickwork there is on this splendid Victorian bridge. The cache was a quick find under a blue brick from the bridge.

Now a circular series near Great Dunmow calls me! A 6.5 mile walk which takes nearly three hours but I found 12 of the 13 caches. I lost half an hour trying to find the DNF searching nearly every tree at GZ but in the end I gave up.

After completing the walk, I had lunch in the car and then set off for the Great Dunmow Water Tower multi which didnt take long to complete. Then, mug as I am, I had yet another try for the Little Dunmow CM but another DNF. I do not think that it's there.

Now with time running out, I set off for a 12 series plus bonus out near Great Saling. I whizzed around the circular walk completing it without failure. That included the bonus too, so it was a good day.

Twenty Seven caches, including one CM, a multi, a puzzle and 25 trads, boosting my Essex total for the year. Hopefully I will finish the year on top.
