It was my wife's birthday. She fancied going up to Flatford Mill and having a boat ride on the Stour. 🛶 We had lunch in Wilkin's Tea Rooms opposite the CM in Dedham and arrived at Flatford Mill about 2 o'clock. As we are members of the National Trust, entry was free but there were no boats for hire. ☹️
We had a good wander around the place, doing a circular walk. We stood at Willy Lotts Cottage trying to get Constable's "The Haywain" into some sort of perspective. After a while we adjourned for tea and I was given special dispensation to get the nearby - Flatford Mill Series - Cottage Cache. Goodness know what it is like trying to get this one when there are hordes of visitors milling around. I was lucky and quickly added this unexpected cache to the list. 😀
